Meet Charlotte! Charlotte got her start in Pilates by taking a BEYOND Pilates class and says it changed her life and ultimately her career. Find out why she’s had a passion for Pilates ever since, and what she loves doing most when not teaching her Pilates reform and run classes at BEYOND Preston Hollow.
BEYONDblog: How did you come to be a part of the BEYOND family?
Charlotte: I became a BEYOND lifer back in June 2014 when I was trying to find a workout to get me wedding ready. I started my peak Pilates certification in January and took BEYOND training in March.
BEYONDblog: What can clients expect when taking your BEYOND classes?
Charlotte: Clients can expect to be challenged in my classes. The great thing about Pilates is there is always somewhere to advance or modify. It makes for the best workout to accommodate a variety of clients. I will typically focus on muscle confusion with some heavier strength training and move into lighter weights or vice-versa.
BEYONDblog: What is your favorite BEYOND Pilates exercise?
Charlotte: My favorite BEYOND Pilates workout is the reform and run class. I am obsessed with the Woodway Curve treadmill, and pairing that with resistance training on the reformer is the key to my workout heart!
BEYONDblog: When not leading a BEYOND Pilates class you are…
Charlotte: In my free time you will find me spending time with my pup, Arnie Palmer, finding my green thumb in my little garden, or testing out my cooking skills in my kitchen. All the above of course involves good wine and great company.
BEYONDblog: What days can clients book your classes?
Charlotte: Right now clients can find me at our Preston Hollow studio on Sunday morning at 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00 a.m.; Monday evening at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday morning at 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.; and Thursday at 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. as well as 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
BEYONDblog: How did you start your fitness journey?
Charlotte: I started my fitness journey in January when I was a finance manager looking for a career change that would allow for a more work/life balance to take care of my new hubs and puppy. I took a chance and made the plunge into my fitness career. Teaming with Lululemon Knox and going through all my trainings I was able to start teaching full-time in June. I am so lucky that I’m able to pursue the career I love. I learn something new everyday and get to meet the best people. I really can’t complain about anything!
BEYONDblog: What motivates you to live an active and healthy lifestyle?
Charlotte: Living a healthy lifestyle is basing it around how it makes you feel. I never step on a scale because those numbers are so deceiving. There’s that cliché saying of “muscle weighs more that fat!” As long as I’m staying active, whether it’s running, interval training, or Pilates paired with eating (mostly) healthy I am at my best. I am a true believer in working out hard so I can play harder!
BEYONDblog: What is your go-to post workout snack?
Charlotte: My post workout snack is either a Cameo smoothie at The Gem, which is right next door to BEYOND Preston Hollow, or a bowl of oatmeal with peanut butter, chia seeds, and topped with raspberries.
BEYONDblog: What’s your favorite training gear or apparel?
Charlotte: I am a “lemon” for life. Most, if not all, of my workout gear comes from Lululemon on Knox.
BEYONDblog: What’s your idea of going BEYOND?
Charlotte: My idea of going beyond is to always make sure you’re having fun while jamming to some good tunes. Life is way too short to stress about the small things. Just sweat, laugh, and jam it out is my theory of taking life (and my workouts) BEYOND!
