Meet Kristin Krenzer! Kristin got her start in Pilates by taking a BEYOND Studios class and says it changed her life. Find out why she’s had a passion for Pilates ever since and what she loves doing most when not on the Pilates reformer.
How did you come to be a part of the BEYOND family?
After retiring from professional dancing I had a lot of free time and was searching for my what’s next moment. A friend asked me to join her for a class at BEYOND and after taking my first-ever Pilates reformer class I immediately became addicted. I even told one of the trainers that the class was going to change my life. Little did I know, it actually would. I have Brandi Marino to thank for seeing something in me I didn’t know I had.
What clients expect when taking your BEYOND classes?
Clients can always expect awesome tunes like 80s and 90s remixes. They’re my jam! Especially like old school hip hop also. Clients will also notice that I can never stand still. When I’m not demonstrating an exercise, they’re sure to see some foot-stomping, finger snapping, and shoulder shaking moves!
What’s your favorite BEYOND Pilates and BEYOND500 exercise?
That’s a tough one because there are so many! I will say that I love ending a killer Pilates class with “feet in straps.”
My favorite BEYOND500 exercise is the run on the Woodway Curve treadmill. I can dance for days, but have never been able to just run. I absolutely love the challenge the Curve brings. Whether I am focusing on speed, distance, or form, I feel so accomplished with even the slightest of improvements.
When not leading a BEYOND class you are…
When I’m not working or teaching, I can be found at Starbucks writing routines and making new playlists. I also love spending quality time with my pup CoCo, or listening to live music and drinking wine at my favorite wine bar.
What’s your favorite way to break a sweat?
Definitely a dance class with any type of dance! I love to challenge myself and see if I still have “it.” Sometimes I don’t, but I sure do have a blast trying.
What is your favorite quote?
“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”
What days can clients book your classes?
I teach classes on Monday and Thursday mornings and Tuesday evenings at the Preston Hollow studio, Sunday mornings at BEYOND500 Henderson, and Sunday afternoons at the Lovers studio.
What is your go-to post workout snack?
I love Juice Bar’s Going Green smoothie or a banana with almond butter.
